WHAT IS AN IDEAL UNIVERSITY LIKE FOR ME
An
ideal university should meet the expectations of its students. First of all, It
should provide its students with the neccessary elements of schooling and
teaching. For example, it should be a guide in students’ life, it should be disciplined.
It should be collaborative, supportive. Then, It should teach what the modern
society wants and requires students to do. It should know what students need and
want. Students need and want to have a good life, become an active member of his/her
society and they want success, curiosity, originality, and satisfying relationships.
University should help the students go through this way. It should know not
every student is the same. It should train the students as an attentive member
of the society. It should train the students in terms of freedom, democracy
and knowledge. It should give the students the knowledge they need in a democratic
way. It should regard all the students equally and teach them to be democratic
and be aware of equality. In that case we can easily say that metu can be an
ideal university because its way of teaching and raising people are almost the same as the criteria
I mentioned above.
